Richie Woodhall supports Crimestoppers

World Champion boxer Richie Woodhall has joined forces with Crimestoppers to encourage people in Telford to support their community by passing on information to Crimestoppers anonymously.

Richie
Woodhall supports CrimestoppersRichie launched his Fight Crime campaign at a press conference at the Telford Ice Rink, where he won his World Championship belt.

You might remember me blogging previously about Ricky Hatton and his crime campaign in Greater Manchester. It's great that within the past few months the Crimestoppers charity has had two very talented and inspiring individuals front campaigns.

Of the new campaign, Richie said: “So many people suffer as a result of the activities of criminals. I would encourage local people to have the courage and fight crime without revealing their identity by contacting Crimestoppers.”

Taxis with Richie's face and crime message on them (just like the one on the left) are going to all around the streets of Telford. If you see one, take a photo and send it in! I'd love to see one in action.

Get a cab with Ricky Hatton

A month or so ago I told you all about the Fight crime campaign that boxing legend Ricky Hatton is running with Crimestoppers.

If you’re out in Manchester and spot one of Ricky Hatton's posters or his face on a taxi, take a sneaky photo of it and send it in. I’ll post your shot up on the I spy a crime blog so those from the rest of the world can see what all the fuss is about.

Ricky's face is about to become a lot more common on the streets of the north west – his Fight crime posters are appearing on cabs for the next eight weeks.

Ricky's got two fights on his hands

The Caped Crimestopper does a good job of keeping his pointy ear to the ground - yesterday he was one of the first to break the news the Ricky Hatton is working with Crimestoppers on a campaign - Bravo!

Today, I've got an added snippet of information for you loyal readers - Ricky has also announced he's making a comeback to boxing this year.

Check out the video below, Ricky discusses both fighting crime with Crimestoppers and his upcoming fight in the ring.

Join Ricky Hatton in the fight against crime

As a superhero, being fit and quick on my feet is more of a necessity than in other professions. I keep in shape by competing challenge events for Crimestoppers and by helping the less mobile carry their shopping. That said there are a few people I wouldn’t want to face in a fight, even if I was wearing my cape.

One of those is national hero, Ricky Hatton. He’s a lad known for packing a mean punch in the ring and sticking by his local Manchester roots out of it. I’ve got some insider news for you – Ricky Hatton’s got a new fight coming up – one against crime. Crimestoppers is working on a new campaign with Ricky called Fight Crime.

As part of it, Ricky is calling on Greater Manchester residents to help him make communities safer by passing on information about crime to Crimestoppers anonymously.

As Ricky said: "Throughout my career I have received great support from people throughout the North West and now I would like them to support me again as we seek to make our communities safer and better places to bring up our kids. By supporting Crimestoppers we are taking the fight to the criminals.”

Sounds like a good deal to me.
